Industrial Pkg 1.docxCustomers that use paper in an industrial packaging environment may be misinformed about their options. Therefore, they are using a paper grade that’s not necessarily fully meeting their needs, or they’re unaware of the various options available to them. Here at Oren International, we work with a variety of the top Industrial Packaging Distributors throughout the country. We keep their team members up to date with our latest paper options, and converting capabilities.

Diverse options exist in packaging materials and your customers are looking for variety and selection. They’re also looking for fair pricing and great service. They want the peace of mind of knowing that they can call their distributor, ask questions and get answers to get the products they need quickly and conveniently.

As an industrial paper and packaging distributor, it’s important to educate your customers about all the options that are available to meet their needs. To do that, you’ll need to make sure you’ve partnered with a paper converter that can help you deliver the best value and selection to your customers.

Here’s a rundown of some of the most versatile industrial paper options your customers want:

Virgin Natural Linerboard - Linerboard is heavier than kraft paper, and is manufactured to make corrugated cartons and standard cardboard boxes. Linerboard can be used for lining pallets, interleaving and slip sheets between products, as well as a protective over wrap for packaging and shipping just about any product.

Recycled Natural Linerboard - Recycled natural linerboard is made of 100 percent recycled fibers. It performs well in the manufacturing of tubes and cores.

Newsprint - Newsprint is an extremely versatile option for a variety of packaging and provides a clean, smooth sheet that can be used for a range of applications such as wrapping fragile items and dunnage.

Chipboard - Made from recycled fibers, chipboard can be used in packaging for interleaving and pallet lining. It has a smooth, uncoated surface on both sides and offers color variance depending on the recycled fibers used.

White top linerboard - White on one side, brown on the other, white top linerboard provides a cleaner, dressed-up look on the outside of containers. Because the outside is white, it also provides a great opportunity for customers to include a custom logo on their packaging material.

Polycoated paper - There are many paper grades that can be custom coated with polyethylene or can have barriers for moisture or vapor applied to ensure the safety of food and other products. They can also be laminated to meet specific requirements.

Scrim paper - Scrim paper is kraft paper that’s reinforced with fiberglass “scrim.” It's poly coated, allowing tri-directional scrim to stick to the paper. The scrim is chemically bonded to the paper and acts as webbing or netting.

Versatility of paper grades

Because all of these paper grades are available in different weights, they provide a range of options for packaging. For example, lightweight paper can be used for smaller equipment, such as screws or tools. Heavier weights of paper can be used for packaging heavier materials, such as construction materials. Heavier paper stocks have also been used in the manufacturing of industrial projects, as carrier paper for conveyor belts.

Another versatile example is kraft paper, which can be used in packaging in some very creative ways. For instance, sheets of paper can be placed between objects to protect them during shipping. Some food manufacturers even use paper between products in a food shipment instead of boxes because they take up less volume while still keeping items adequately protected and separated. Kraft paper comes in a variety of colors as well.
