Examination of a Multiwall Bag

Posted by Alan NeSmith on Wed, Jul 10, 2019

Multiwall paper bags are often used as shipping and storage containers as well as packaging bulk materials. In many cases, design and production artists can create and adapt multiwall bags that work for your specific needs, from a utility approach that simply identifies your product, to the more difficult task of grabbing the consumer’s attention at the point of sale.  There are several designs of bags: sewn, open mouth bags (manufactured at Oren International) and valve bags, and variations thereof.

Is Your Paper Converting Order Starting to Feel Like Groundhog Day?

Posted by Alan NeSmith on Fri, Feb 02, 2018

When placing regular orders for any number of business supplies week after week, or month after month, the process can become monotonous and it can be easy to get stuck in a rut. That certainly goes for ordering paper products too. It’s not surprising, considering that when businesses find a product that works, they may very well keep ordering the same thing over and over.

Paper Converting Trends for 2018

Posted by Alan NeSmith on Wed, Dec 13, 2017

The digital revolution has changed the face of paper and printed media industries forever. As a result, there has been a lot of consolidation of paper mills, printers, and paper converting facilities over the past decade. If the market isn’t strong enough to sustain them, paper converting facilities close their doors, or get bought up by larger entities. And that trend for consolidation of paper converting facilities shows no signs of slowing in the new year.

How Our Paper Converting Company Supports National Manufacturing Day

Manufacturing is one of the many things that has contributed to America’s distinguishments, and it continues to propel our country’s economy. Today, U.S. manufacturing is responsible for producing 18.2 percent of the world's goods. Manufacturers contributed $2.18 trillion to the U.S. economy in 2016, according to the National Association of Manufacturers.

Nine percent of the U.S. population is employed in the manufacturing industry, and as of May 2017, more than 369,000 people are employed in paper manufacturing, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. As a paper converting company supporting the manufacturing economy in Florida, Oren International is proud to be part of that number, and to contribute to the local and national economy.

Growing the Next Generation of Manufacturers

The Manufacturing Institute and Deloitte said in a recent report that nearly 3.5 million manufacturing jobs will likely be needed over the next decade, yet 2 million are expected to go unfilled due to the skills gap. 80 percent of manufacturers report a moderate or serious shortage of qualified applicants for skilled and highly-skilled production positions.

At Oren International, we are passionate about growing and nurturing the next generation of manufacturers and helping to fill this gap, not just in Florida, but throughout the United States. That’s why we’re proud to support National Manufacturing Day each year. On October 6, more than 1,600 manufacturers will open their doors and help to inspire young people across America to pursue careers in manufacturing and engineering. Oren will be among them, participating in Manufacturing Day events at our Pensacola paper converting company.

Paper has been the fiber of our business since we first opened our doors in 1996. As a leader providing innovative paper solutions, Oren works with distributors and companies around the globe to meet nearly any customized paper need. We manufacture our products locally in Pensacola, but we ship our products worldwide.

One of our most popular international shipments is pink butcher paper. It has rekindled interest in the art of barbecuing and smoking delicious fare in the United States, and now pink butcher paper is gaining popularity outside of the U.S., too. We’ve recently shipped pink butcher paper as far as the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, England, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and Puerto Rico.

Our paper serves a variety of other industries, too, from branded paper for lining restaurant tables and trays to custom paper used for packaging and shipping. Through the latest machinery and video monitoring capabilities, our paper converting company offers manufacturers, big or small, custom paper solutions to help achieve their end goals. We look forward to showcasing our manufacturing power during National Manufacturing Day.
